6.7.1 Circuit
Breaker
Distribution Module Option
The shelf is factory-equipped with distribution of six DIN-type circuit breakers.
Remove the front panel of the distribution module to access the breaker positions and their associated terminals,
see drawing 030-713-08 and Figure 5 below:
Figure 5–DIN-type circuit breaker distribution module with cover removed
Recommended wire sizes for circuit breaker output and common block (tunnel) terminals are #6 to #14 AWG.
CAUTION: In the case where there is no power on rectifiers, and if only one battery breaker is
used, when the breaker trips there will be no alarm.
Common load return block
For proper operation of the
circuit breaker alarm, the alarm
sensing wires must be
connected to the outputs of
installed circuit breakers along
with the load and battery feed
cables.
Route wires on this side of the
distribution module toward the
rear of the shelf.
Alarm sense wires labeled with
a “B” tag should only be used
with battery breakers.
6.8
CAN Serial Port
A single CAN Serial port (RJ-12 modular jack with offset latch) is provided for communications with Argus’ Cordex
rectifiers and other CAN-enabled equipment. This is located on the shelf backplane.
6.8.1 CAN
Termination
A jumper allows setting of the CAN OUT to be unterminated (open to the next shelf in the system) or terminated.
Termination must be enabled in final shelf on the CAN bus only.
For a stand-alone shelf system, set the jumper to CAN TERMINATED; otherwise, choose CAN UNTERMINATED
and daisy-chain from shelf to shelf (CAN OUT of one shelf to CAN IN of another) as necessary ensuring that only
the last shelf is terminated.
