OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
It is strongly recommended that a standard telephone be connected to the
PHONE socket of the Connection Box of the Powerphone. This telephone
can be used to set up and answer incoming calls and to have a private
conversation during a call.
Warning: You are required to advise the people you are calling that
you will be using a handsfree speaker telephone during the call and
that the conversation may be recorded.
Making A Call
To make a call press the
ON/OFF
button, listen for dial tone and dial the
number. The green light emitting diode (LED) above the
ON/OFF
button will
be lit.
Press the
ON/OFF
button when you have finished the call. The green LED
above the
ON/OFF
button will go out.
Receiving A Call
To answer a call, press the
ON/OFF
button. The green LED above the
ON/OFF
button will be lit.
Press the
ON/OFF
button when you have finished the call. The green LED
above the
ON/OFF
button will go out.
Note: If the Powerphone is connected as an extension behind a telephone
system or PABX the Powerphone may not ring. It may be necessary to
install a standard telephone to operate as a ringer. You can answer the call
by pressing the
ON/OFF
button on the Powerphone if the standard
telephone is ringing.
Transferring Calls
You can use this feature when you have connected a standard telephone to
the Powerphone system. Refer to instructions regarding connecting an
additional telephone (on page 8).
1. To transfer a call from the Powerphone to the standard telephone:

Pick up the handset of th e standard telephone you have connected
whilst the Powerphone is ON (the LED is green).
•
Turn off the Powerphone by pressing the ON/OFF button. The call will
be transferred to the standard telephone.
