same room, with an overall rating hi-

ROOM VENTILATION
Rooms where type B heaters are installed
can use both direct ventilation (that is with an
air intake directly from outdoors) and also in-
direct ventilation (with air intake from nearby
rooms) if all the following conditions are re-
spected:
fi
gure 9 = position of the air intake,
in cases 1 and 2 the grille is not obstructed
being behind the radiator or protected by a
hood, while in case 3 the grille is obstructed
as it is without protection,
fi
gure 10 = the
opening is large enough to allow adequate
aeration of the heater,
fi
gure 11 = the opening
is not su
ffi
cient to supply air to the heater
and the
fi
replace, which must have its own
air intake (call the
fi
replace manufacturer),
fi
gure 12 = the opening is large enough to
allow adequate aeration of the heater,
fi
gure
13 = the opening is not su
ffi
cient to supply air
to the heater and to the
fi
replace, which must
have its own air intake (call the
fi
replace ma-
nufacturer),
fi
gure 14 = the opening is not suf-
fi
cient to supply both the heater and the fan.
TECHNICAL INSTRUCTIONS FOR INSTALLATION
DIRECT AERATION
To allow installation of type B heaters the fol-
lowing conditions must be respected:
- The room must have an opening of at
least 6 cm2 per kW installed, and in any
case at least 100 cm2, directly in an out-
side wall;
- The opening must be as near as possible
to the
fl
oor, must not be subject to ob-
struction and must be protected by a gril-
le that does not reduce the useful section
of the air passage.
IMPORTANT
• Correct aeration can also be obtained
using a number of openings, if the sum of
the various sections corresponds to that
needed.
• If an opening cannot be provided near
the
fl
oor level, then the opening section
must be increased by at least 50%.
