5. Lift off the shower handle, hold it over Classic
Line 2 bathtub.
6. Direct the shower handle away from the patient.
7. Turn on the shower.

Put your bare hand in the water stream and make
sure the water temperature is not too hot or too
cold.
9. Check the temperature of the shower water on
the temperature display. Figure 45.
10. Let the patient feel the water with their bare
hand before directing the water stream onto the
patient’s body. Adjust the water temperature, if
needed.
11. Shower the patient. See Figure 46.
12. Turn off the shower.
13. Place the shower handle in the holder.

To prevent scalding, always check the
water temperature with your bare hand
before directing the water onto the patient.
Do not use gloves as it may insulate to
the extent that the water temperature can
