8BCONTROL FUNCTIONS
PROTECTION, CONTROL AND METERING FUNCTIONS
It is also possible to program a LED with the flag “rInTestBat” (battery test in
progress).
To activate the test from the front panel one of the function buttons must be
programmed with the signal “bTestBat” (battery test). This button must be of
type 2 (temporarily switched on) and with no confirmation.
2.8.2.2. BATTERY TEST ACTIVATION
The smART P500 relay can execute this test with the help of the external battery
charger. There are three ways to activate the start of the test:
Using a frontal button.
Using a remote command of a protocol (DNP, etc.).
Automatically.
2.8.2.2.1. USING A FRONTAL BUTTON
To activate the battery test using a frontal button, the protection must be in local
mode and a button of the frontal panel must have been programmed with the flag
“bTestBat” as described in the 8th step of the configuration. When this button is
pressed the battery test function is executed.
2.8.2.2.2. USING A REMOTE COMMAND
This activation is performed using DNP or other protocol; for this, flag “dAcTB”
(Battery test activation order) must have been mapped to a point in DNP. Once
this order has been received, the internal flag “rTestBatRem” (Remote battery test
activation) is enabled and the function Battery test is executed. The relay must be
in remote mode for this activation to work.
2.8.2.2.3. AUTOMATIC TEST
In this case the test must be activated from the relay’s configuration. Options in
Auxiliary Voltage Self-Diagnosis menu in the smART P500 software must be
configured.
