Converting an IAP to a Campus AP
To convert an IAP to a Campus AP:
1. Click
Maintenance
in the Instant main window.
2. Click the
Convert
tab. The
Convert
tab contents are displayed.

3. Select
Campus APs managed by a Mobility Controller
from the drop-down list.
4. Enter the host name, Fully Qualified Domain Name (FQDN), or the IP address of the controller in the
Hostname or IP Address of Mobility Controller
text box. Contact your local administrator to obtain
these details.
5. Click
Convert Now
to complete the conversion.
Converting an IAP to Stand-Alone Mode
This feature allows you to deploy an IAP as an autonomous IAP, which is a separate entity from the existing VC
cluster in the Layer 2 domain.
When an IAP is converted to function in stand-alone mode, it cannot join a cluster of IAPs even if the IAP is in
the same VLAN. If the IAP is in the cluster mode, it can form a cluster with other VC IAPs in the same VLAN.
To deploy an IAP as a stand-alone or autonomous IAP:
1. Click
Maintenance
in the Instant main window.
2. Click the
Convert
tab. The
Convert
tab contents are displayed.
