AscTec Falcon 8 and MGS are not designed for continuous disassembly. For a
safe transportation we recommend to use the transport case or the AscTec
Backpack.

CHANGING PAYLOADS
For different payloads (cameras or sensors), it is necessary to exchange the complete camera mount
with the integrated payload. Every payload supplied by Ascending Technologies is equipped with a
chip that enables the AscTec Falcon 8 to identify the payload.
The compass of the UAV has to be calibrated once with every payload. If you
install a new payload or you want to exchange cameras in an existing camera
mount, you have to calibrate the compass. Contact us for the calibration manual.
REMOVING THE CAMERA MOUNT
1.
Unplug the 10-pin cable from the central
unit. The two clips on the socket have to
be pushed aside and the jack will come
out.
2.
Gently pull out the camera mount. Make
sure to pull it straight out.
INSTALLING THE CAMERA MOUNT
1.
Feed the camera mount’s carbon rod into
the hole on the central unit. Make sure to
insert it straight to match the mounting in
the back side of the central unit.
2.
Install the knurled nut on the back side of
the central unit. Finger tight is fine.
3.
Plug in the 10-pin cable. Make sure the
two clips on the socket are closed.
4.
Check the center of gravity of the system:
Balance the complete UAV with inserted
battery with two fingers right under the
small holes in the middle of the motor
rails. Adjust the battery position with the
velcro strap till the UAV is leveled.
