standard screwdriver to keep the roller from rotating while the nut is being turned.
The rollers should be adjusted so that the following conditions are met:
a. the locking rod is thrown smoothly between the rollers when the lift car rises
off the ground, without jarring or hesitation;
b. the locking rod is fully engaged between the rollers when the lift car has
moved 2 inches off the ground;
c. when the locking rod is fully engaged, it cannot move vertically between the
rollers more than 1/8"; and
d. the locking rod retracts smoothly from between the rollers when the lift car is
lowered to the ground.
3. To remove the rollers, perform the following steps:
a. Use a 9/16" wrench to remove the two (2) 3/8-24 nuts. It may be necessary
to use a large standard screwdriver to keep the rollers from rotating while the
nuts are being turned.
b. Use pliers to turn the skirt guide tube counterclockwise until it is free from the
threaded stud.
c. Use a 7/16" wrench to remove the 1/4-20 nut from the stud and push the skirt
guide rails upward until the rollers can be pulled out of the mounting bracket.
4. When reinstalling the rollers, refer to Step 2 above for instructions on adjusting the
rollers.
