Push the new EIM card under the guide tongues and through to the stop in the
chip-card holder.

Fit the housing cover.

Reconnect the system to the power supply.
Notes:
– The EIM card must be fitted before the system is put into operation.
The PBX will not start without the EIM card.
– If the defective EIM card was replaced by a new one, all DECT handsets
must be logged on again. This is necessary because the DECT identifi-
cation numbers are stored on the EIM card.

Expansion cards
Basic systems are expanded by equipping the expansion slots with expansion
cards.
The combination of card type and the maximum expansion is determined by sys-
tem limits. The system and expansion limits of the various basic systems are de-
scribed in
Expansion card types
There are three types of expansion cards: Terminal cards, trunk cards and special
cards. An overview of the different cards with their interfaces can be found in
pansion Stages and System Limits", page 22
.
Expansion card slots
The 2025/2045 mainboard contains 5 expansion slots for expansion cards. The
2065 mainboard contains 14 expansion slots (7 expansion slots on either side of
the processor card).
Expansion cards can be fitted to any expansion slot. Exception: On the Ascotel®
2065 the system slot in the middle is reserved for the MPC-8260 processor card.
Unused expansion card slots are fitted with dummy covers (EMC).
Expansion card configuration data
Configuration data consists of system configuration data and terminal configura-
tion data. All the configuration data is stored centrally in a non-volatile memory on
