System Upgrade 2025/2045 / 2065 from I6.5 to I6.6

Upgrading a 2025/2045 or 2065 system from I6.5 to I6.6 requires new system soft-
ware. The system upgrade can be carried out on site or remotely with a version
transfer.

Preparations:

•

As of I6.6 the CDE call number has to be entered instead of the CDE ID under
"

Default call forwarding if no answer

" under the user destinations. If such entries

exist in the configuration, it is advisable, prior to the upgrade, to assign call num-
bers to all the call distribution elements so that the numbers can then be ported
automatically. Otherwise during the version transfer the system itself will enter
call numbers which bear no relation to the numbering plan.

•

If downgrading back to I6.5 make a note of the licence code. Note: If upgrading
to I6.6 a new licence code is generated automatically.

•

If OIP is installed, it must also be updated. It is best to carry out the OIP installa-
tion before upgrading the PBX software.

Upgrade

1.

Initiate the upload process as described in the paragraph

"Initiating an upload

process", page 188

. Select

"Start Now"

as the activation time.

Note: To upload the system software you first need to change the password in
AIMS once.

2.

Once the upload is completed, the PBX restarts and is then ready to operate
again with the new I6 system software and the usual system configuration.

Notes:

– AIMS 6.6 is required in order to update the I6.6 system. Once

AIMS 6.6 has been installed and started, the switch in PBX genera-
tion from I6.5 to I6.6 has to be carried out on the corresponding sys-
tem. Note: If the PBX generation is incorrect, AIMS 6.6 cannot access
the PBX after the software upgrade and generates the correspond-
ing error message.

– I6.6 uses a new User Access Control with user accounts and authori-

zation profiles. During the version transfer the three existing author-
ization levels are re-used complete with passwords and allocated to
user accounts with profiles assigned accordingly (see

accounts and authorization profiles", page 163
