EQUIPMENT CARE AND INSPECTION
The equipment should be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected after use each day to maintain optimal
performance. All components should be maintained in proper working order and replaced as required.
Inspection
The following visual checks and inspections should be performed before operating the unit:
•
Look for mechanical damage that could affect safe operation
•
Ensure there are no missing parts or accessories.
•
Inspect components for tightness, cracks, wear or frayed electrical cords.
•
Should mechanical or other damage be evident that would affect the safe use or operation of the
system, it should not be used until repair or replacements correcting the defects are made.
Purging Suction Canister
The solids trap filters debris from the suction system, and remaining liquids are held in the suction canister. The
canister holds up to 2 liters of solution. When the canister is full, an overflow shut-off device will disable the
vacuum pump until purged.
IMPORTANT: Do not fill the canister to its capacity. The overflow shut-off is meant to prevent overfilling,
but is not a fail-safe, and can result in liquid being pulled into the vacuum pump. Be sure to purge the
suction canister on a daily basis.
1
Turn OFF the vacuum pump.
Do not run the vacuum run while purging.
2
Completely unwind the purge hose from the rear of the system and
ensure that the hose is not kinked. Place the hose end into a sink or a
narrow mouth receptacle. For “hands-free” purging, purchase the
optional Purge Hose Quick Connect Kit
(PN 90-2712)
and connect the
hose to the quick connect.
3
Turn ON the purge pump switch. If not using a quick connect, hold the hose firmly while purging; liquid
will be pumped under pulsating pressure.
Contents of suction canister can be disposed of into standard sewage drain as is standard with all
central suction systems.
4
Continue to pump until liquid stops draining from the hose. Then turn OFF the purge pump.
