VIPA Device Configuration
This section describes how to configure a VIPA device to host a MPS microphone over an IP network using
the VIPA Config Tool (VCT). It also describes how to configure a VIPA device to support the MPS
microphone functionalities such as background music, listen-in and fallback mode.
NOTE:
1) The MPS microphone can be connected to one of the VIPA device’s audio input and serial port in similar
fashion to a DMS microphone. In this case, configure the MPS microphone as a DMS microphone. You
will find the instructions in the Help Topics of the VIPA Config Tool.
2) VIPA Stack V2.15.1s or later is required on the VIPA devices hosting a MPS microphone over an IP
network.
IMPORTANT:
It assumes that:
•
The user has prior knowledge of using the VCT.
•
The user has prior knowledge of configuring the required VIPA device and peripherals using the VCT.
•
The user has basic knowledge of IP and multicast addresses and communication ports.
Please refer to the Help Topics of the VIPA Config Tool for general configuration instructions and further
details.
You Will Need:
1) The VIPA Config Tool V2.15.1.0050 or later
2) The MPS microphone configuration data
3) The IP and multicast addresses used in your system, including the communication port number and unit
identification
4) The system design documentation (zone allocation, connection diagrams, etc.)
