5.4 Fallback
Configuration
The MPS microphone will operate in fallback mode (LOCAL CONTROL) when the microphone fails to
communicate with its host VIPA device over the IP network or when it is configured to operate as stand-
alone unit in an IP network. In fallback mode, the MPS microphone interfaces directly with other VIPA
devices in the network in order to provide live announcement broadcast.
The other VIPA devices in the network must then be configured to run a process which enables the direct
interface with a MPS microphone.
IMPORTANT:
The fallback must be configured on the VIPA Device and on the microphone’s XML configuration file; see
Section “3 MPS Microphone Configuration” (page 11).
