the ON position. Device IDs 16, 8, and 2 should be in the OFF position. See Figure 2
below.
For the Vortex
EF2280, Set Device
ID to 0.
If you are using a Vortex EF2280 in your system, make sure that the device ID is set
to 0. Check this via the LCD display by going to S
YSTEM
S
ETTINGS
in the menu and
pressing the D
OWN
button until you come to the Device ID. You can also check this
via the RS-232 port by typing
‘F**ID?’
. This command will return the Device ID.
If you need to change this number, type
‘FxxIDyy’
where
xx
is the current Device
ID and
yy
is the new Device ID that you will wish to use (
yy
can vary from 00 to 07).
Note
If the Device ID’s are not set according to the above settings, the remote con-
trol will not be able to transmit any commands to an EchoFree device.
Before calling Technical Support, verify that the Device ID’s of the EchoFree
units are set properly.

REE DEVICE HAS THE PROPER FIRMWARE
You also need to verify that your EchoFree product has the proper firmware version.
For the EF200,
The version should be 1.08 or higher.
For the EF1210,
The version should be 1.05 or higher.
For the EF2280,
The version should be 1.11 or higher.
To check the version of your unit, look at the O
PTIONS
tab in the Conference Com-
poser software for each EchoFree device, or Type
‘***SWVER’
in the C
ONSOLE
window (right-click on the Comm Port in the Explorer menu) in Conference Com-
poser to get the version for all devices connected to the ASPI B
US
. If you do not have
the proper firmware, please contact Technical Support at (404) 892-3200.

If you are using an EF2280/EF200 or an EF1210/EF200 combination, please make
sure the two devices are connected to each other via the ASPI B
