Rotary switch – Configuring the external release
The
external release
(“Inputs”, page 37) input releases the door for a configured period of time. Rotary
switch S1 (Fig. 4) is used to configure the time behaviour; for a motorised lock, it configures the unlocking/
locking behaviour; with a coupling lock, it configures the engage/disengage behaviour.
Warning!
Life-threatening danger and risk of injury due to fire and smoke:
Motorised locks must lock a fire and
smoke protection door securely. This is no longer guaranteed with permanent unlocking. With motorised
locks in fire and smoke protection doors,
· position F may not be set
· there must be no permanent contact at the
external release
input in positions 0 through E.

Position 0 – Direct mode
The lock
· engages the door handle if there is a signal at the
external release
input,
· engages the door handle for as long as the signal
is present,
· disengages the door handle when the signal is no
longer present.
The lock
· is unlocked if there is a signal at the
external
release
input,
· remains unlocked for as long as the signal is
present,
· activates the automatic locking when the signal
is no longer present.
Positions 1 to E – Time mode
Is unlocked if there is a signal at the
external release
input, then the set time will expire [ s ]. The time can
be set from two seconds (Position 1) to 28 seconds (Position E).
The lock
· engages the door handle if there is a signal at the
external release
input,
· engages the door handle for as long as the signal
is present,
· disengages the door handle the signal is no lon-
ger present and once the time has elapsed.
The lock
· is unlocked if there is a signal at the
external
release
input,
· remains unlocked for as long as the signal is
present,
· activates the automatic locking the signal is no
longer present and once the time has elapsed.
Position F – Toggle mode for permanent release
For each signal at the
External release
input, the lock switches the current release status.
A
signal
in toggle mode is the closing and reopening of the release button (tripping contact).
· Upon the first signal at the
external release
input,
the lock engages the door handle,
· the door handle disengages upon the next signal,
· the door handle engages upon the next signal,
· etc.
· Upon the first signal at the
external release
input,
the lock is unlocked,
· upon the next signal, the lock activates auto-
matic locking,
· upon the next signal, the lock is unlocked,
· etc.
