Start the machine (do not engage the clutch):
a.
Walk around the machine and make sure every-
one is clear.
b.
At the control panel press and hold the
CON
-
TROL
POWER
button for 3 seconds until the but-
ton remains illuminated and the display become
active.
c.
Go to the control panel (Figure 134). Press the
HORN
button, shout “Starting Up!” Allow
enough time for people to respond, then press
the
HORN
again.
d.
Start the engine. Turn the
ENGINE
switch past
the run position to start and hold. Do not crank
the engine for more than 30 seconds.
e.
Release the switch when the engine starts.

Make sure the compression roll housing is seated on
the down stops (Figure 135) and not supported on
the hydraulic cylinders or resting on its safety pin.
Lower the compression roll, as necessary.
See “Compression Roll Safety Locking Stops” on
page 38.

DANGER
Electrical hazard.
Be sure no overhead electrical wires are present.
Do not fold, unfold, or operate the conveyor near
overhead power lines.
Failure to follow these instructions could result
in serious injury or death.

CAUTION
Falling debris hazard.
Do not stand under the conveyor while folding or
unfolding.

Use the
CONVEYOR
FOLD
fold the conveyor (Figure 136).
Turn off the engine until you are ready to move the
machine onto the trailer.
Important
Make sure the conveyor rests on the stops. If the
conveyor is equipped with a cross-belt conveyor,
make sure the conveyor does not rest on the sup-
port brackets for the cross-belt conveyor.
