Slide Gate
The slide gate (Figure 10) is located beneath the hopper,
under the feed conveyor drive assembly.

Opening the slide gate reduces material buildup at the
feed drive by allowing material to drop beneath the feed
conveyor drive and onto the discharge conveyor belt.
Debris Curtain
A debris curtain (Figure 11) hangs at the front of the
hopper to block objects thrown by the machine.

For most operations, keep the debris curtain installed.
When feeding material that is longer than the hopper, it
may be necessary to remove the debris curtain. Under
these circumstances, position the machine as described
in “Area 5” on page 55.
For travel, roll up the curtain and strap or tie it in place
to prevent wind drag or damage.
