IMPORTANT: The instruction manual you are holding includes essential information on the safety measures to be
implemented for installation and start-up. Therefore, the installer as well as the user must read the instructions
before beginning installation and start-up.
Keep this manual for future reference.
For optimum performance of the ASPID AUTOMATIC POOL CLEANER, we recommend you to read the following instructions.

ASPID hydraulic suction pool cleaners use the filtering system of the pool as the source
of energy. They are connected to the skimmer or the pool cleaner inlet.
By its design and operation system, the ASPID cannot be used to clean seawater
swimming pools.
The power of the swimming pool pump enables them to move automatically at random,
and suction the dirt. This will be deposited in the pump pre-filter, and therefore we
recommend regular cleaning of the pump pre-filter. The sand filter backwash expels the
suctioned dirt through the drain.
3. INSTALLATION AND POSITIONING
The ASPID can operate at low flows (5m³/hr) and at low pressure (0.2bar). However, it is
generally recommended to use ¾ HP pumps, as these usually have flow leaks owing to
dirt in the pre-filters or filters. The suction blocking ball impels the water several times
per second, and will therefore be subject to wear. The efficiency of ASPID is largely
based on the state of the swing system, which should be checked regularly.
ASSEMBLY OF THE HOSES
The ASPID hose is formed by 1-metre sections.
The length of the hose to be used, which will adapt perfectly to the pool, is equal to the longest distance the pool cleaner must move in the pool
from the connection point + 1 section of hose.
In swimming pools with ladders where the suction point is in front of the steps, take the
lower step as the most distant point, Always insert the male terminal in the female terminal.
The hoses should be connected and properly tightened.
Use the
CONICAL ADAPTER
to connect the hose to the suction point. Its range is from 40
to 60 mm. in Ø.
Any other type of hose will reduce the performance of the pool cleaner. Never use a continuous self-floating hose.
We advise you to leave the ASPID in the pool during the summer. If you wish to remove it while bathing, dismantle the hose and keep it stretched
out. Do no roll it or expose it to the sun.
ASSEMBLING THE ACCESSORIES
DEFLECTOR
This prevents the ASPID from becoming stuck in corners, ladders or steps.
Fit the DEFLECTOR in the hose in the best position so that the pool cleaner does not
become stuck in obstacles in the pool, at about 50 cm. from the ASPID.
COUNTERWEIGHT
This offsets the floating capacity of the hose and ensures that the ASPID is well balanced at
the deepest part of the pool.
Place the counterweight in the hose at about 2 metres from the ASPID. If the pool cleaner
