To power cycle a RAID subsystem means to:
•
Shut down
•
Turn off the power
•
Turn on the power
•
Restart
Power cycling is sometimes required as a remedial action but only when prompted by a message from software
or when directed by Technical Support.
To power cycle the RAID subsystem:
1. Shut down the subsystem.
When the controllers shut down, your network connection is lost.
2. Manually turn off the system power by pressing the power button of the RAID unit for over five seconds.
3. Wait at least 10 seconds.
4. Manually press the power button of the JBOD units.
5. Manually press the power button of the RAID subsystem.
6. Wait no less than two minutes.
7.
Do one of the following actions:
• Open your browser and log into ASUS Storage Management.
• Re-establish your Telnet or SSH connection to the subsystem and open the CLU.
If you cannot log in immediately, wait 30 seconds and try again.
Important
If your RAID subsystem manages JBOD expansion units, always power on the JBOD expansion
units first. Then power on the RAID subsystem.

its status. The messages you see depend on your notification selection and what is currently happening in the
ASUS DS300f G2.
