Onboard switches
Onboard switches allow you to fine-tune performance when working on a bare or open-case
system. This is ideal for overclockers and gamers who continually change settings to
enhance system performance.

Core Unlocker switch
This switch allows you to unlock the extra cores of your CPU.
To ensure system performance, turn the switch setting to
Enable
when the system is
powered off.
• The O2LED1 LED near the Core Unlocker switch lights when the switch setting is turned
to
Enable
. Refer to section
1.12 Onboard LEDs
for the exact location of the O2LED1
LED.
• You may also press <4> during the Power-On-Self-Test (POST) or enable the
ASUS
Core Unlocker
item in the BIOS menu to activate the Core Unlocker function.
• The system will use the last setting you have made.
• If you load the BIOS setup defaults, the
ASUS Core Unlocker
item in the BIOS menu
follows the current setting of the Core Unlocker switch.
• If you clear the CMOS, the Core Unlocker feature will be disabled regardless of the
current settings of the BIOS setup and the Core Unlocker switch.
