away from home, you’ll be able to move files around between devices quickly, making back-ups over
a network a breeze.
If you want to hook up your E402 to an external display, it has two options for doing that. The full-
sized HDMI port means it can easily be plugged into a high-definition TV with the readily available
standard HDMI cable. Some slim and lightweight notebooks from other manufacturers provide
either a mini- or micro-HDMI port, which means you have to remember to carry the right cable
around with you.
The E402’s HDMI port is HDCP-compliant for HD DVD, Blu-ray and other content that carries copy-
protection software, so all your films should play just fine on the bigger screen, meaning you can
enjoy watching movies or a box-set with friends or family in comfort rather than having to huddle
around the notebook’s display.
Alternatively, if the screen you want to plug in to doesn’t support HDMI, the E402 also has a
standard VGA port.
Safe and secure
ASUS engineers take security seriously, and the E402 comes equipped with both hardware and
software to keep your laptop and data safe.
The case sports a Kensington security slot, which is a global standard for securing devices. It’s a small
slot that means you can add a cable to lock your laptop to a desk.
The E402 ships with Windows 10 Pro, which supports Bitlocker encryption, so that if your laptop is
lost or stolen, the thief won’t be able to access your data. This makes the E402 great for work, as it
means any sensitive data such as client and customer records aren’t at risk if the laptop goes astray.
Bitlocker encryption also means that the E402 is likely to comply with your work’s security policies.
