Once the second segment has been reached the system will maintain the cryo-chamber
at the preset loading temperature. Samples can now be loaded by simply removing the
lid, loading the samples and closing the lid once again. The run is resumed by hitting
the g
reen ‘Resume’ button in the bottom right hand side of the screen
.
8.1
SBS plate loading outside the freezer
It is also possible to remove the SBS plate from the system to fill vials outside the freezer.
This will enable use cases such as automated-vial filling in a SBS tray, or use of the SBS
tray to minimise thermal excursions during cryoprotectant addition.
When designing SOPs that use the SBS trays outside of the cryo-chamber we recommend
you discuss your proposed workflow with Asymptote who can advise as to best-practice.
It is imperative that condensation build up is minimised during this use-case, various
methodologies and SOP’s can be adopted to ensure correct operation.
