LED Meanings
On the six-port MERLIN LEGEND MAIL system, the four-port expansion voice-
port card has four pairs of LEDs (labeled VM3, VM4, VM5, and VM6). The
meaning of these LEDs is the same as for the LEDs labeled VM1 and VM2. (See
Table 1-1.)
The MERLIN LEGEND MAIL System
Advantages
The new integrated design of the MERLIN LEGEND MAIL system offers several
advantages. For example, it
eliminates the need to cable two, four, or six voice mail ports as well as
the remote maintenance device, which are now hard-coded within the
module;
simplifies remote maintenance because the station number associated
with the remote maintenance device can be deduced by examining
MERLIN LEGEND translations;
eliminates the need to provide surge/lightning protection for the voice
mail system;
eliminates the need to wall-mount the voice mail system and/or the
remote maintenance device.
