Chapter 3
Basic Operation
Overview
The VS1912 can be configured over a standard TCP/IP connection via its
graphical user interface (GUI) using a web browser, or via a RS-232 serial
controller. Media for playback can also be transferred to the VS1912’s internal
storage via a TCP/IP connection.
Logging in
To access the Browser GUI:
1. Connect the VS1912 directly to your computer or to the network your
computer is connected to (see page 7 for details).
2. Type the VS1912’s IP address into the address bar of a web browser.
The VS1912’s static (right) LAN port’s default IP address is
192.168.100.1. To access it from a computer, ensure that the
computer’s IP address is 192.168.100.x (2 - 255) and that it shares the
same network mask (255.255.255.0).
If making use of the left LAN (DHCP) port, power on the VS1912 and
confirm its IP via a connected display.
Note:
1. For best functionality, please use Google Chrome.
2. If a Security Alert dialog box appears, accept the certificate – it
can be trusted.
3. The welcome screen appears.
