Short circuits

Polarity Inversion
The consumption output features an electronic system of protection against short-circuits
with restart. When a short-circuit is detected, the consumption output is immediately
unplugged.
The regulator intends to restart the consumption output by intervals of more or less 1
second. Once the short-circuit disappear, the user disposes again, automatically, of energy.
To protect the equipment from short-circuits in the panels line (charge), it is
necessary to include the option of blocking diode.
In a photovoltaic system over-voltage peaks can occur due to many reasons, the most
frequent are those induced during atmospheric storms. The equipment features protection
against over-voltage in the panel lines, battery and consumption.
The photovoltaic installation is isolated from the ground, that is why this installation does not
increase the risk of lightning drop.
This kind of protection permits to absorb a certain level of induced over-voltages, the
protection against lightning drops directly on the installation is not guaranteed.
The equipment can support overloads of 100% during short periods of time.
The protection against short-circuits does not include the overload protection. To
dispose of protection against long overloads, it is necessary to use a
magnetothermic in the consumption output.
The equipment permits the polarity inversion in the battery and consumption connections.
It admits polarity inversion in the panels line only with the model featuring blocking diode.
There are erroneous situations, which are not polarity inversions, and that can
cause damages to the equipment:

Connect battery on the panel terminals.
Unplug the battery when the panels and consumption are connected.
Connection of a battery positive and negative on two positives or two negatives.
