FUELLING
Unscrew the tank cap while the engine is switched off and check
the tank content. Refuel if tank level is low.
Gasoline is highly flammable and explosive. You may sustain
burns or serious injuries.
z
Stop the engine and remove possible sources of sparks and
igniting.
z
Fuel only outdoors.
z
Immediately wipe off any spilled fuel.
Fuel up only in well ventilated facilities.
Never fuel in inside rooms and areas where gasoline vapours
may come into contact with fire or sparks.
Allow the engine to cool if it was previously operated.
Care when fuelling! Avoid spilling gasoline.
Do not fill above the gasoline filter rim.
Screw on the tank cap tightly after fuelling.
Store gasoline separately from display lighting, grilles, electrical
systems and electric power tools.
Spilled gasoline is not only a fire hazard but also harmful to the
environment. Immediately wipe off any spilled fuel.
Gasoline may damage paint coats and plastics. Do not spill any
gasoline during fuelling. Damages from spilled gasoline are not
covered by the warranty.
RECOMMENDED FUEL
Fuel unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of at least 85.
These engines are certified for operation with unleaded gasoline.
Unleaded gasoline causes fewer deposits in the engine and on
the spark plugs and extends the service life of the exhaust
system.
Never use old or dirty gasoline or an oil-gasoline mixture.
Prevent dirt or water from entering the tank.
Sometimes a slight “knocking“ or “ringing“ (metallic ringing
sound) can be heard during operation with high strain. This is no
reason for concern.
If these sounds occur at a constant engine speed at normal loads
change the brand of gasoline. If the sounds persist, consult an
approved specialist dealer.
Operating the engine with permanent knocking or ringing sounds
may damage the engine.
Operating the engine with consistent knocking or ringing sounds
is considered not as intended. Resulting damages are not
covered by the manufacturer warranty.
ENGINE OIL RECOMMENDATIONS
Oil affects the performance and life of your engine decisively.
SAE 10W-30 API SE or better is recommended for general use.
Other viscosities shown in the diagram can be used if the
average ambient temperature lies within the recommended
range.

CHECKING THE ENGINE OIL LEVEL
To check the oil level the engine must be positioned on a level
ground and switched off.
