Brake adjustments
5.5.1
Brake shoe adjustment (no ABS)
•
Tighten the adjustment nut (A) on the wheel brake with a spanner until the wheel will not rotate in the direction
of travel.
•
Centre the brake shoes by applying the parking brake several times.
•
Turn back the adjustment bolt (A) by approximately one turn, until no braking effect can be felt when the wheel
is turned in a forward direction.
•
Check the position of the brake equalizer compensators with the parking brake applied.
Positioned at right angles to the brake rods = even play on both wheel brakes.
Re-adjust brakes if necessary.
•
As a check, apply the parking brake slightly and check that the braking effect on the wheels (in the direction of
travel) is the same on the right and on the left.
