DANGER
IT IS NECESSARY TO RESPECT THE
ALARM AND TO PLACE THE MACHINE
IN A MORE STABLE CONFIGURATION.
DEATH OR SERIOUS INJURIES MAY
RESULT FROM THE MACHINE TIPPING
OVER.
4.3. SAFETY
DEVICES
AND
ALARMS
4.3.1 EMERGENCY STOPS
The machine is fitted with 2 Emergency Stop Switches:
- One on the upper electrical box.
- One on the lower electrical box.
Pushing on one of these 2 switches will cut off the electrical supply to the platform.
4.3.1 HORN
The horn is located on the lower electrical box. It is activated by the actuation of one of the safety
devices and by pressing the push button located on the upper electrical box.
4.3.1 LIGHT INDICATORS
The light indicators are located on the upper electrical box. Each has an important meaning and
the operator should pay special attention as they are linked to the safety devices of the machine.
4.3.2 TILT SENSOR
In work position when the
platform reaches an incline
of 2° in relation to the
horizontal,
the
sensor
actuates the buzzer. The
corresponding indicator on
the upper electrical box lights up.
Actuation of these alarms indicates the machine has reached its limits of stability. Driving the
machine is forbidden. All the elevation movements are slowed down. The platform must be fully
lowered before the machine can be driven and returned to a horizontal surface.
4.3.3 CHAIN SLACK SENSOR
The machine is fitted with a safety device to detect slack chains. The
lowering movement is stopped as soon as an obstacle prevents the
mast from coming down correctly: mast contacting an obstacle,
incorrect roller adjustment, broken chains…
The mast will stop its descent as soon as the risk has been
detected. The red indicator corresponding to the chain slack will
light up on the upper electrical box, and the buzzer will sound.
The operator is warned of the danger and must, first of all, find out
the cause of the chain slack detection. The operator must then raise
the mast to tension the chains. If the situation persists, do not insist
and immediately ask qualified personnel to rescue the occupants of
the platform.
