DANGER
DO NOT REMOVE THE CHARGER
COVER.
FAILURE TO DO SO MAY RESULT IN
ELECTRIC SHOCK.
CALL A QUALIFIED PERSON IN CASE
OF BREAKDOWN.
DANGER
DO NOT USE THE MACHINE DURING
THE CHARGE. FAILURE TO DO SO
COULD
RESULT
IN
RAPID
AND
IRREVERSIBLE DETERIORATION OF
THE
MACHINE
AND
OF
THE
CHARGER.
TROUBLESHOOTING
If small problems encountered on a battery are rapidly and correctly determined, battery life can be
improved.
PREVENTION = AUTONOMY AND LONG LIFE
3.2. CHARGER
The high frequency single phase charger 24V
– 30 A is located at the front of the machine. It is
supplied by a 220/230V-16A socket.
3.2.1 OPERATING PRINCIPLE
Battery life and machine performance depend on the condition of the battery charger. It is
therefore an important part of any electric aerial work platform.
SYMPTOM
PROBABLE CAUSES
SOLUTIONS
Cells overfilled
Never exceed the maximum level
Overheat
Check the charger capacity.
Overload
Do not charge the battery if gravity
above 1.230
Filling done before the charge
Fill after the charge
Loss of electrolyte due to overflow
Do an equalisation charge
Stratification of the electrolyte
If after the charge the gravity is still
too low, contact Product Support
Low voltage in the cells
Gravity too low, short circuit
Clean the battery top
The charger's rating is too high for
the battery
Check the charger and its rating.
Bad air circulation during the charge
Ventilate the area
Cells shorted, cell weak or faulty
Replace the faulty cell
Battery under sized
Install a battery of higher capacity
Battery under charged
Increase the charging time and have
the charger checked by a
technician.
Faulty cable or connection
Replace either the plug, or the cable
or the connection.
Faulty cell
Replace the faulty cell
Battery at the end of its service life
Replace the battery
Overflow
Inequal electrolyte gravity or gravity
too low
Battery cell temperature too high
Battery incapable of supporting
regular operation
