DEP/T6 Owner's Manual
(
04.01
)
Classification:
Public
4.1.1.
Ethernet
This information screen contains all the information on the two Ethernet interfaces:
IP-address distribution mechanism, IP-addresses, subnet masks, gateways.
IP-addresses can be
static
or
dynamic
, obtained through DHCP. Additionally, if an
attempt to locate a DHCP server fails
,
the system can switch to the
Auto configuration
mechanism and assign a temporary (private) IP-address to the interface of the format
169.254.x.y.
An IP-address (or mask) presented as 0.0.0.0 indicates that the system does not have a
valid Config or IP-address. The reason can be that there is no physical connection,
that system does not obtain valid DHCP information, etc....
The screen also holds information about the
host port
and the
NMA port
.
The
HOST port
indicates the port through which a host can establish a TCP connection
to the DEP
/
T6; by default, this is port 1000.
The
NMA Port
refers to the port through which the Network Management System
(NMS) can connect to the agent (NMA) running on the DEP
/
T6. The default port is
1001.
The picture below is a sample menu showing all the items listed in the
