3.3  General rules applicable for ATEX products

3.3.1

Quality system

Each ‘ATEX-product’ that leaves our factory is produced and approved whether it meets all ATEX quality requirements. The
results of each check are logged. Further IPS keep file logging (and store this logging for 10 years) per batch where these
products are shipped to when they leave our factory. This enables us to trace the delivered products through the delivery chain,
where each link in this delivery chain must register to whom ATEX products were supplied ultimately tracing the actual user of
the ATEX product. This is a very important aspect of the ATEX regulations to enable appropriate measures in case a non-
conformity related to a product is detected.

3.3.2

Identification of ATEX certified products

Each ATEX certified product can be identified separately. The data indicated on the products gives all relevant information like:

- Serial number

- Production week

- Product identification

- Address manufacturer

- Ingress Protection (IP)

- CE m ID number

- ATEX marking

- Protection concept

- ATEX certificate number

- Country of production

3.3.3

Traceability of ATEX certified products

Each ATEX certified product must be traceable (where is it, who is using it?). So every link in the supply chain must
keep records of the location of ATEX products i.e. who is using them, like:

The manufacturer keeps logs of to which distributor products are supplied.

The distributor does the same and every following link as well.

In the end the final organization that using it, must keep logs of which employee is using the device (where is it, who has it?).

In this way every ATEX product is traceable making it possible to find and contact the user in case this might be required.

3.3.4

Putting into service

The Mobile may only be put into service at the site by the "system manager", the person responsible for the safety of people
using equipment in areas which have a potential explosive atmosphere. This system manager must be acquainted with the risks
for the user at the places where the mobile will be used. Before the mobile is put into service the user should receive
instructions and information about the conditions to be followed for the safe operation.
All relevant data concerning commissioning and repairs on ATEX products must be logged. Only a service organisation
acknowledged by the manufacturer may perform repairs. For traceability it is advisable to keep a record of type- & serial
numbers of the mobiles and the customers/end-users who have received that mobiles.

Warning: The use of any not by Atus released spare part will make that the product loses its ATEX status.
the product is no longer suitable to working in potentially explosive atmospheric conditions then
A special warning for the battery: use only battery type: F01U168323.

3.3.5

The following items should be a guide for the instructions

Defining the area where the PS3-BAX mobile may be used.

The special conditions of use, including examples of possible misuse, for which experience has shown that they might

occur.

Inside the defined area the mobile may not be opened.

Inside the defined ATEX area the batteries of the mobile may not be charged

Outside the defined area the batteries of the mobile may only be charged by using dedicated chargers.

Only the battery types mentioned on the ATEX-certificate may be used: F01U168323.

A defect mobile should immediately be brought outside the ATEX-area.

If the user is in doubt about the use of the mobile in the ATEX area, he/she should contact the system manager.

Warning: When working in potentially explosive atmospheric conditions, every precaution must be taken to avoid the
risk of initiating combustion. Mobiles with ATEX approval must be in possession of an approved certificate
issued by the certification authorities. NON-ATEX Mobiles must never be used in such conditions.

3.4  Declaration of Conformity

Hereby, International Pagerservices B.V. declares that this PS3-BAX is in compliance with the essential
requirements and other relevant provisions of Directive 1999/5/EC.
