Typical Application
Typical input interfaces include various types of audio and video source
equipment that provide AES3 serial digital audio and SMPTE259M serial
digital video. Unit may also interface to crosspoint switches, such as AI’s
AVS-1616-101-x. Outputs may interface to sink equipment such as
DES-100x deserializers, monitors, switches and EL panels equipped with
deserializer circuitry, etc. Outputs may also be routed to crosspoint switch
modules or other SDS-1001-101-x modules.

3.0 Installation
3.1
Prior to Installation
The Serial Digital A/V Splitter is a simple module to install. Prior to
installation, the following items should be considered:
3.1.1 During the design and layout of the aircraft cabin, careful
consideration of the location of this and all other audio modules is
necessary. Some of the items to consider include:

Space
•
Proximity to other devices (i.e. source equipment or A/V box)
•
Available power supply
•
Length of cable runs
•
Environmental conditions (temperature, humidity, etc.)
•
Location of other aircraft systems (i.e. oxygen delivery)
•
Access for service repair (if applicable)
