Serial Digital A/V Splitter
1.0 General
Information
1.1 Introduction
This manual contains information for the proper application, installation,
and operation of the Audio International, Inc. (AI), Serial Digital A/V
Splitter, Model # SDS-1001-101-x. The “-x” in the model number
designates the type of connector utilized in installation; “-1” = Positronic
and “-2” = D-Subminiature. Also included are relative physical and
electrical characteristics of the units.
1.2
Purpose of the Equipment
Audio International's SDS-1001-101-x Serial Digital A/V Splitter is a stand-
alone Serial Digital Audio (AES3) and Video (SMPTE259M) splitter that
simultaneously routes a single input to four (4) independent outputs. The
input incorporates cable equalization and the outputs utilize standard
cable drivers. Digital Audio functions as specified by AES3 standard,
including transformer coupling on inputs and outputs.
No signal reclocking
is done. No command and control interface is required for this device; the
SDS-1001-101-x functions automatically when a signal is present.
The unit provides:

One (1) AES3 (AES/EBU) serial digital audio signal input,
•
Four (4) Simultaneous AES3 (AES/EBU) audio outputs,
•
One (1) SMPTE259M serial digital video input, and
•
Four (4) Simultaneous SMPTE259M SD-SDI video outputs

Equipment
