7. If Other HP is selected, select a Printer model and press <Continue>.
8. Press <Continue> to exit printer setup and <Continue> to exit Setup.
Printing to USB memory
1. Plug a USB memory stick into the USB port on the recessed connector panel. The
RM500SL may be either on or off.
2. Press <Setup>, then highlight and <PICK> [Printing].
3. Highlight and <PICK> [Print to USB file].
4. Highlight and <PICK> [Printer details] to change the file type [Bitmap (bmp)] or
[Internet GIF (gif)] and the captured area [Full screen], [Main window] (full screen
without the message line or [Active window] (foreground image only).
5. To save a screen image to a file, press <Print>. After about 4 seconds, a message will
advise that the USB stick is being accessed.
Do not unplug the USB stick until this
message disappears.
6. To input a file name from a connected keyboard each time you print, highlight and
<PICK> [Page setup], then highlight & <PICK> [Ask]. File names are limited to 8
characters plus .bmp or .gif.
Do not use space $ \ / or tab in the file name
. This may
create electronic Protected Health Information (ePHI). See Section overview and
Appendix 1 of the User’s Guide.
7. To save all test data as an xml file, first press <Setup>, then highlight and <PICK>
[Session]. Highlight and <PICK> [Enable file based data exchange] then highlight and
<PICK> [USB drive] and <Continue>.
8. Press <Session>, then <PICK> the [Erase all data] button to show a list of options.
Highlight and <PICK> [Store session to file] and press <Continue>.
A style sheet (audioscan.xsl) which allows the stored xml file to be viewed with a web
browser or Excel (right click and select Open with Excel) is automatically saved with the
data file. Select this style sheet when asked.
Network printer setup
To print to a network printer or to a Windows-shared printer on the network, you must first
enable networking. See section Networking. To print to a printer on a Windows PC
connected to a network, you must also share the printer on the PC by selecting Start,
Settings and Printers. Then right click on the printer you wish to share and select Sharing.
Only PCL 3, PCL 5, PostScript compatible, HP Deskjet D4160 and 460 printers are
