Viewing Received Messages
While a message is being received, the display shows
“Transferring SMS.” When the message is received
properly, the display shows “New Message” until you
read the message or you press any key.
If the message is set with a public key, the display
shows the public key instead of the sender’s phone
number. This is to prevent an unauthorized person
from reading the message. If you want to read the
message, you must enter the password that you have
set with the public key in the Key Settings menu. For
further details, see “Setting Public Key” on page 45.
Your phone stores up to 30 messages recently re-
ceived in the Inbox on your phone. You can receive a
message of 640 characters long. When you access
Inbox under the Message menu, you can read and
edit the received messages.
To view a received message:
1. Press the
SMS
key to display the SMS
menu items.
Or, press the
MENU
soft key to display
the Main menu items, choose Favorite,
and select
1:SMS
by pressing the
SELECT
soft key.
2. Press the
SELECT
soft key to access
2:Inbox.
Result: The list of the messages you have received is
displayed.
3. Select a message that you want to read
using the
or
key, and press the
SELECT
soft key.
Result: The display shows the sender’s phone number,
the message text, and the time when you
received the message. A check mark displays in
front of each phone number after you read the
message.
4. You can access the following options by
pressing the
OPTION
soft key.
•Delete: allows you to delete the selected message.
•Reply: allows you to reply by sending your message.
•Forward:
allows you to send the message to other
person.
•Make a Call: allows you to call the sender back.
•Save Number:
allows you to save the sender’s phone
number in your Phonebook.
5. To exit, press the
key.
