Requirements
- Phillips screwdriver to loosen and fasten the screws
1. Remove Blind Panel
•
Switch off the PBX.
•
Unplug the power plug of the PBX from the mains socket.
•
Wait 1 minute until the capacitors are completely discharged.
•
Loosen the 4 screws of the blind panel and remove it.
Note: The assembly is easier if you remove the casing from the rack and place it in such
a position that you can access the casing from above. Note that the grounding terminal
at the rear of the casing may graze the surface onto which you put down the device. For
this reason, you should protect the surface with a cloth, for instance, before putting down
the device.
2. Insert Guide Rails
•
Insert 10 guide rails both at the top and bottom of the casing.
Note:
The guide rails are inserted at a distance of 25.4 mm from each other. You can find the
right position by counting the rectangular recesses from the right.
The guide rails have to be assembled according to the following pattern:
3 x free, 2 x guide rail assembled, 3 x free, 2 x guide rail assembled, etc. For a better
overview, numbers are given at the casing which help you to find the right positions.
Make sure that the guide rails are adjusted to the left when assembling them (see figure).

Remove Guide Rail
If you have inserted a guide rail incorrectly, remove the casing so that you can reach the
guide rail from below. Press the two fastening clips of the guide rail together, which jut
out of the recess. Carefully lift the guide rail off in upward direction.
3. Mount the Expansion Power Supply Unit
For the assembly of the expansion power supply unit, 5 black plastic brackets have been pre-
assembled inside the casing at its rear.
•
Put the expansion power supply unit straight onto the brackets. Note the positions of the bores in
the expansion power supply unit. Each bore is designed to accommodate a pin of a bracket.
•
Press each corner of the extension power supply unit into the corresponding bracket until it snaps
into place.
Note: To remove the expansion power supply unit, loosen the 5 securing hooks at the
brackets and lift the expansion power supply unit off.

4. Connect the Expansion Power Supply Unit
Note: Make sure that all cables are laid behind the mounting rail for the expansion circuit
board.
•
Disconnect the plug of the 230 V power cord (1) from the base power supply.
•
Connect the 230 V power cord (1) with the expansion power supply unit.
•
Connect the 230 V power cord (2) of the expansion power supply unit with the access of the base
power supply.
•
Connect the control cable (3) of the expansion power supply unit with the access of the base
power supply.
5. Mount Expansion Circuit Board
•
Put the expansion circuit board with the ribbon cable onto the mounting rails to the left.
•
Adjust the expansion circuit board. To do this, take one module and slide it into the guide rails.
The expansion circuit board is mounted correctly if the module snaps into place in the plug-in
connector without tilting.
•
Screw the expansion circuit board onto the mounting rails with the shipped 6 mounting screws
(M2,5). Tighten the screws. Screw the screws through the bores of the module plug-in connector.
Screw in the screws as follows: 2 x right, 2 x center, 2x left
•
Connect the ribbon cable (1) of the expansion circuit board with the connector of the base circuit
board.
•
Connect the 230 V power cord (2) of the expansion power supply unit with the connector of the
expansion circuit board.
6. Mount the Modules
•
Slide the module into two guide rails until the plug-in connector on the expansion circuit board
snaps into place.
•
Use two screws to screw the module onto the front part of the casing. To do this, use a Phillips
screw at the top and a thumb screw at the bottom.
•
Repeat this procedure for all modules you wish to install.
7. Close the Casing
•
Close the remaining apertures with blind panels.
Note: Also use the unused blind panels of the base device if the shipped blind panels do
not suffice.
8. Perform Function Test
•
Plug in the power plug of the PBX into a mains socket.
•
Switch on the PBX.
•
Carry out a function test.
Note: You can check in the configuration manager of the PBX whether the expansion
power supply unit and the expansion circuit board were properly connected. The
installed modules must be displayed under Hardware.
If the expansion power supply unit does not work properly or if not enough voltage
applies, an error message will be displayed under Monitoring > Status report.
