First Power-On
Connect the PBX with an unobstructed and accessible 230 Volt wall
socket with protection earth contact. The green power LED shows
the connection with the supply voltage.
After power-on the Data/Status-LED will glow red (orange) for some
seconds: The PBX is initializing. As soon as the Data/Status-LED is off,
the PBX is ready for operation. But if the Data/Status-LED remains red,
there may be some defect (other possible displays: see
Information Status of the LED Display on page 52
)
If you like to do a functional test prior to the configuration of
the PBX, e.g. you will be able to make an internal call. Simply
use the internal telephone numbering plan that was created
by the PBX during the first operation. The initially created internal tele-
phone numbering plan is described in
chapter The Default Factory Set-
). These are printed for the analog subscribers in front
of the screw clamps (30, 31, 32, ...) on the mainboard and can be
changed via configuration program at any time. For the ISDN tele-
phones attached to the internal S
0
-Port the telephone numbers 41 and
42 are configured in the default settings. The 1st MSN entered into indi-
vidual Auerswald system telephones, ISDN telephones as well as ISDN
PC-controllers must match with the here created internal number
(please consult the
chapter Configuration of ISDN Devices on page 18
and make sure that this 1st MSN of the corresponding device is also
presented to the PBX).
For some ISDN telephones the connection to the 230 volt mains for
power supply is needed.
Now start the connected PC and install the configuration program
COMset from the Auerswald Mega CD.
햲
Insert the CD-ROM (Auerswald Mega Disk) into the CD-ROM drive.
햳
Sometimes the installation will not be started automatically. In this
case you can start Setup manually: On your desktop click on the
„Start“ button in the task bar and select „Run“.
햴
Open the CD-ROM drive with the Auerswald CD-ROM. Select the
application „Setup“ in the root directory by double click.
햵
Then click on „OK“.
햶
Follow the instructions on the screen. You will find the installation
for the configuration program COMset under the software for the
corresponding system.
If you connect the PBX via USB to the PC and if both devices
are switched on, the hardware assistant of Windows 98 SE/
2000/Me/XP will start automatically in order to support you
when installing the necessary drivers. Please consult the description of
the Auerswald USB driver installation in your CAPI/TAPI manual.
