Powersource: AC / Battery
The
RCD-230
can be powered by AC from any household AC socket or alternatively by 8 batteries (UM-1 / „D“). Connect
the supplied AC cord to the device and to a household socket. Disconnect when the unit will not be in use for some
time or when you put in batteries.
When using batteries, please keep in mind to
•
always disconnect from AC power.
•
make sure the indicated battery polarity is followed (as shown on inner side of battery compartment).
• Take the batteries out when not using the device for some time.
•
not mixing up battery types (like Alkaline and Carbon-Zinc).
•
not trying to recharge batteries. This could lead to rupture or leakage of harmful chemicals.
•
not expose them to direct sun light, fire or other sources of heat.
Radio operation
• Slide the FUNC switch (28) to „RADIO“.
•
Pull out the antenna completely to gain the best possible reception.
• Slide BAND (25) to FM or AM.
•
Turn the Tuning Knob to tune in the desired station. The current frequency will be displayed on the LCD.
•
When tuned to a FM stereo broadcast, FM stereo ”ST” indicator will be shown on LCD display. In weak signal areas
where FM Stereo signal may not be strong enough and can cause excessive background noise. In this case slide
the BAND switch to “FM” (mono) position.
Tape
• Slide the FUNC switch (28) to „TAPE“.
•
Open the cassette door pushing STOP/EJECT (14), put in a tape and close the cassette door.
• Direct the tape with the conventional buttons (13) - (17)
•
The tape stops playing automatically at the tape end.
AUX
• Slide the FUNC switch (28) to „AUX“.
•
Connect any external music or media player (CD/MP3 player, smartphone, laptop, computer or similar) to the Aux
input (8) of the RDC-230 via a regular 3.5mm audio cable.
•
Use the external player as you are used to. Do, however, not forget to turn the volume up.
CD
This system can playback all digital audio CD/MP3, finalized digital audio CD-Recordable (CD-R) discs, finalized digital
audio CD-Rewritable (CD-RW) discs and CD-DA format digital audio CD/CD-R/CD-RW discs.
•
Slide the FUNC switch to select CD/USB/SD mode, then choose CD mode by pressing CD/USB/SD on the front.
•
Place an audio CD/MP3 DISC into the tray with the printed side facing up and close the CD door. The display will
show „- - -“ when the CD door is not closed properly.
• Navigate through the cd using

If no CD is inserted or the inserted CD is not readable (due to wrong file format, dirt or damage to the CD), „
NO“
will be shown on the display.
•
When playing MP3-CDs with folders: interchange between folders pressing FOLDER (4) repeatedly and navigate
inside the folders with
