On the left side of the Add or Remove Programs dialog box, select the
option to Add/Remove Windows Components

Check Internet Information Services (IIS) and click the Next button. You
can possibly be prompted for your Windows XP CD.
NOTE
If IIS is installed and is not being used for any application uninstalling IIS
and reinstalling it ensures that the default settings are set
Now that IIS is installed, configure the firewall that is built into Windows XP.

From the Windows Start menu, select Programs

Control Panel

From the Control Panel, double click Security Center

If the Firewall strip says on then click the firewall icon at the bottom of
the dialog box.

In the Windows Firewall dialog box, click the Exceptions tab, and then
click Add Port
