3.4. Installing
the Equipment
The equipment must be handled by means of a crane truck, by a person qualified and trained
in the operation of the cran e. The weight of the equipment makes this operation particularly
delicate.
Remove the cover plates (covering the frame 3, p 5) to provide access to the interior of
the obstacle.
Attach the slings/chains to the fixed fr ame (2, p5). The equipment must not in any
circumstances be handled by attaching slings to the moving frame (3, p 5)!
Lay the obstacle on the base (1, p 5).
Level the obstacle (cover plates lined up with the road surface) by means of the 4
adjusting screws (30).
Put the 12 fixing screws (31) in place (do not tighten yet!), and insert the appropriate
number of shims (32) (supplied: ref. ENT -E-5252 (3mm) and ENT-E-5253 (10mm)) to
take up the play between the fixed frame and the base. Take care with this operation, as
it will influence the stability of the RSB and reduce vibration as vehicles pass over (these
vibrations tend to loosen the cover pl ates).
Tighten the fastening screws (31) and remove the adjusting screws (30).
Attach the electric box at the desired place (max 20 m from the obstacle, or 50 m with
additional filter for the variable speed controller), by means of the appropriate
attachments. Take care to guarantee the conditions of use (temperature, RH, ventilation:
see technical specifications, p 21) as well as to leave sufficient room for opening the door
and making the connections.
Install the traffic lights at the desired place (
Automatic systems
forbids to operate the
RSB without traffic lights).
