Technical Specifications
Standards
The standards listed below served as the basis for the development and implementation
of FebriScan, a measuring system for the detection of elevated body temperature
German version:
E DIN EN 80601-2-59 VDE 0750-2-59:2017-03:
"Medical electrical equipment"
This standard forms the basis and defines the essential performance characteristics
required of an infrared camera-based system for non-invasive detection of elevated
body temperatures under indoor environmental conditions. These specific requirements
are based on IEC 60601-1:2005 + A1:2012.
Required Technical Performance Characteristics
General requirements
Ambient temperature: 18 to 24°C
Relative air humidity: 10 to 75%
Temperature resolution of the display: <= 0.1°C
Isothermal colour display with colour code / temperature scale
Measuring point: Inner angle of both eyes
Minimum detector resolution: 320 x 240 Pixel
Minimum coverage of the face:240 x 180 Pixel
The image layer should be vertical to the face
Temperature imaging range: At least from 30°C to 40°C
Maximum offset error in the range from at least 34°C to 39°C: +/- 0.5°C
Measurement uncertainty must be calculated and verified by measurements
Temperature threshold value: Adjustable in steps of 0.1°C
Reference temperature source (Blackbody)
Temperature in the range of 33°C to 40°C
Uncertainty: max. +/- 0.3°C
Sta Drift: max. +/- 0.1°C
Placement in the camera's field of view (min 20 x 20 pixels), if possible on the
same image layer as the face to be measured
Drift und Stability
Permissible drift and stability: max. 0.2°C within 14 days or within the calibration
period (whichever is longer)
Self-correction may be performed
