9.3 Example 2: Configuration with several alarm zones
and control functions
The example below is based on Example 1 (Basic Configuration
Example). A second building is added to this configuration.
Detection Loop B covers the fire detection for this building (storage
and workshop). Note that the configuration written in italic is already
done in Example 1.
The configuration now includes the following detection/alarm zones:
4 Detection Zones. Detection Zone 1, 2, 3 and 4 (already
configured in Example 1).
3 new Detection Zones, Detection Zone 5 (white), 6 (red) and 7
(grey) in the second building.
2 Alarm Zones (Alarm Zone 1 and 2), one assigned to each
building. Both zones are defined as Neighbour Alarm Zones.
1 Parent Alarm Zone. The manual call point in Detection Zone 6 is
connected to this top-level Alarm Zone.
The following functionality is to be configured:
One output is used for Fire Alarm Routing Equipment (relay
output 1, already configured in Example 1).
One output is used for Fault Warning Routing Equipment (relay
output 2, already configured in Example 1).
One output is used for the sounder outside the main building
(Alarm Zone 1).
One output is used for the sounder outside the Storage/Workshop
building (Alarm Zone 2)
One output is used for the ventilation control in the
Storage/Workshop building (open collector output 1).
One output is used for door control in the main building (Sales
Office/Canteen/Corridor South, open collector output 2).
Points in alarm in Detection Zone 1, 2, 3 and 4 are to be
configured to activate Fire Alarm Devices belonging to Alarm
Zone 1 and to activate a Neighbour alarm in Alarm Zone 2.
Points in alarm in Detection Zone 5, 6 and 7 are to be configured
to activate Fire Alarm Devices belonging to Alarm Zone 2 and to
activate a Neighbour alarm in Alarm Zone 1.
A manual activation of the manual callpoint in Detection Zone 6 is
to be configured to activate all Fire Alarm Devices belonging to
Alarm Zone 1 and 2 (Parent Alarm Zone).
A point in alarm is to be configured to activate all Fire Alarm
Routing Equipment.
