Sky Safari setup
Before using SkySafari with Avalon mounts it is necessary to set some important
parameters in the program setup page. SkySafari is provided with numerous parameters to
be set, mostly dedicated to the program display characteristics. This section of the manual
will deal only with those parameters which are necessary for the Avalon mount control.
Read the SkySafari manual to set all other parameters
(http://www.southernstars.com/support/manual/index.htm).
NOTE:
Before controlling the mount with a device (tablet/smartphone/iPhone/iPad), the
mount must be set up via a pc at least one time to estabish the preliminary settings. The
preliminary settings are: choice of the correct mount configuration file, setting of the
observatory location, choice of the pointing system (One star, Three star, Multistar). These
choice are made only one time and need to be repeated only if the mount has been moved
to a new location or if changes have been made to the operating mode or any of the other
parameters. The instructions below show how to establish the necessary preliminary
settings.
