After the connection a new frame will appear on the right side of the main X-Solver
windows with two tabs: Plate Solve and Settings.
A2.2 – Settings panel
First select the desired plate solving method from the
available choices:
Astrometry.Net Blind Solver
requires the access to
the Internet because the Plate will be solved by the
Astronomy.net engine solver
Local Plate Solver
uses a local data base. To perform
a Fast LOCAL Solving is needed to che the related
check box.
If the Local Plate Solve method is chosen, it will be necessary
to enter the telescope focal length and the radius of the
search range, expressed in degrees (it is recommended to
set it from 20 to 30 degrees).
Next, click on the “Go to the instruction Page” to access the
instructions for guided Plate Solve Engine installation and
use.
Older model QHYMZ cameras
require the “Old QHY/MZ
Cameras” box to be checked.
