A2.4 The X-solver as single star Plate Solver
To take an image press the SHOT button on top main menù.
The LIVE VIEW button allows continuous shooting.
The X-Solver may also be used to perform a Single Star alignment even if telescope is
pointing to an unknown part of the sky.
In this case select the “Solve after goto” and the “Sync after solve” checkboxes and launch
an Acquire & Solve operation. Once done perform a goto on whatever point of the sky
(possibly reach of stars). At the end of the goto the X-Solver will automatically:
Take a pictures (it is strongly suggested to set a 5/10 sec. as exposure time and
binning 2)
Make a Plate Solve
Sync the telescope on the target (works only in case of positive solved image)
Use this method if an imaging session is planned for only a few targets.
A2.5 The X-Solver as a pointing model for as many as 24 stars/points
The X-Solver is a powerful tool that allow to build a sky model for up to 24 stars by clicking
over the SKY MODEL label on the top menù.
A window will appear showing a 2D representation of the entire sky.
The yellow circle indicates the current telescope position.
It is possible to populate the diagram with other points (up to 24) with a double click of the
mouse in any point of the sky.
