Fastening of the wire rope
The wire rope is fixed on the reel with two
shackles. Sufficient tightness of the shackles is
important, so that the wire rope will not come off
from the reel during pulling. To lower the stress
applied on the shackles do not unwind the reel
completely, but leave at least three rounds of
rope on the reel.
Check the tightness of the shackles at least
annually or every 20 hours of use. The shackles,
shown in the adjacent figures, can be tightened
from the right side of the winch. Remove the
cover to access the clamps.
When replacing the wire rope, fix the new in the
same way as the original. Note the correct
turning direction on the reel: the wire should lean
against the round block fixed on the reel. The
wire is coiled on the reel from the upper side.
The correct winding direction is counter-
clockwise in the adjacent figures.

Adjust drum brake
On the left side of the drum, there is a bolt that
pushes a slide pad against the drum. It should be
adjusted so that the drum will not rotate freely.
This prevents the wire rope from unwinding in
uncontrolled way. Loosen the inner nut to adjust
slide pad from its bolt when necessary.
