The spreader is stopped by releasing the control lever or by shutting down the loader, making the
attachment will stop. There is no separate stop switch on the spreader. See safe stopping procedure shown
in page 6.
When using the spreader, keep it in an upright position at a suitable height from the ground, so that the
lowest part of the spreader will never hit the ground, or any obstacles, at any conditions. The spreader is
designed to be used to its intended rotating direction only. The rubber lip plate and the sweeping plate (see
section 7.2) may get damaged, if the spreader is not used properly. If material does not come out from the
spreader or it comes out poorly, first check the direction of rotation and then the settings of the spreader (see
section 6.3).
6.3.
Adjusting the spreader
The spreader can be used with one or two loader auxiliary hydraulic pumps, depending on the model of the
loader, as well as the driving speed, the settings of the spreader and the type of the material being spread.
Generally more fine-grained material will require greater auxiliary hydraulic flow.
The adjustable lower plate of the spreader, shown below in chapter 6.3.1., should be set according the type
of the material being spread. The spreader is also equipped with a hydraulic flow control valve for adjusting
the rate of spreading for different driving conditions. The tilting of the spreader slightly affects the amount of
spreaded material.
6.3.1.
Adjustable lower plate
The lower plate of the spreader is adjusted by moving the screw
setting with tools. For more sand or larger grain material, move
the fixing point shown in adjacent picture to the right. Move the
fixing point a little at a time, as opening the plate too much will
lead to the sand being drained from the spreader.
The setting of the lower plate is adjusted according to the
desired amount of material, driving style and the loader model.
The best adjustments according to loader and material type
may be found by testing the setting and adjusting as necessary.
6.3.2.
Hydraulic flow control
The spreader is equipped with a hydraulic flow control valve for
more accurate control of the spreading. With the valve the
spreader can be adjusted according to the loader model in use
and the operating conditions as well as the driving speed.
For more flow to the spreader and more sand, turn the adjusting
screw (number 1 in adjacent figure) counter clockwise. Lock the
setting by tightening the locking screw (2) against the valve. If
you want to use high loader engine revolutions, but limit the
spreading rate, switch the loader auxiliary hydraulics control to
one-pump setting first. Then adjust the control valve on the
spreader by turning the screw clockwise.
