4. Replace battery air filters
The battery uses forced air cooling to control the
internal temperature. Both the air intake and the
exhaust are protected by an air filter unit. These
filters must be installed and in good condition to
ensure the operation of the battery. In case the air
flow is reduced due to a dirty filter, the battery output
power level will be reduced automatically and
therefore the device is not able to operate at full
power.
Filters must be replaced based on the usage
conditions. If operating the loader frequently in dusty
conditions the intake filter (located at the back of the
loader) must be checked often. Wipe visible dust
from outside of the filter housing. Replace the filters
in case they are dirty or damaged.
The exhaust air filter is located on the front of the
battery pack. This filter does not need to be replaced
in normal use, but in case the performance of the
battery system is not improved after the intake air
filter replacement, the exhaust air filter must also be
replaced.
Replacing battery air filters e6
To fully access the filters for removal of the filter and
replacement, remove the rear side cover panel of the
loader.
There is a pulling strap at the end of the filter
element, remove a filter by carefully pulling from the
strap handle and slide the filter element to the side.
The new filter is mounted to the battery pack by
pushing it in. Please observe that the protective
metal grill on the filter faces outwards and that the
filter is pushed in completely.

Replacing battery pack
To remove the battery pack from the loader, use
lifting equipment capable of lifting the entire battery
pack. Never remove individual cells of an installed
battery. The battery must be replaced as a complete
assembly. Replacing individual cells without full
analysis of the condition of all battery cells can cause
the new replaced cells to get damaged quickly.
Handling and recycling of used batteries
Used batteries must be treated hazardous waste and
must be disposed of properly. Used Lithium-ion
batteries must be recycled according to country
specific legislation. For recycling please return the
used battery to your Avant dealer or Service point.
