Figure 6: Examples of an interactive messages
Note:
If you receive an interactive message update but you had deleted the original message, then
the handset automatically sends a negative acknowledge (NAK) to the system if requested.
Mobile data from the handset can initiate the application to send an interactive message. You can
then select an action from the list, such as sending a message back to the application or dialling a
specific number. For more information, see Mobile Data on page 114.
Message templates
You can use predefined messages in templates to quickly write a message rather than having to
write the message completely from scratch.
You can configure up to five predefined messages for the handset in the PDM/Device Manager. This
lets you select and send a message appropriate to a situation, such as “I am in a meeting” or “I am
in the operating theatre”. For information about how to use the PDM/Device Manager to create or
store predefined messages, see the Message Templates section of the handset configuration
manual.
You can also edit, add, or remove text from a template message before sending it. For example, you
can append “please call back after 1500” to the template message “I am in a meeting”.
You can use the message template function in the following contexts:
• When you receive a call that you want to decline but still acknowledge with a message, but
without having to write a completely new message.
• When you receive a text message and you want to reply with a text message without having to
write a completely new message.
• When you want to write a message using the handset Messaging function without having to
write a completely new message.
