Emergency call configuration
Use the Emergency call feature to dial a number or send a text message
rapidly. Use the Emergency call menu to store an emergency number and
a text message. When you press the emergency key, one of the following
actions occur:

If you define a message, the handset initiates a voice call using the
emergency number.
•
If you define a message (up to 160 characters in length), the handset
sends the emergency message to the emergency number.
Configuring an emergency call number
To configure an emergency call number, perform the following steps:
Attention:
The Emergency call feature is available on the Avaya 4027,
4070, 4075 DECT Handsets, but the message can be sent
from the Avaya 4070 and 4075 DECT Handsets only.
You can send text messages only if your system supports
this feature. Contact your system administrator to determine
if you can use this feature.
After you send a message, the handset stores the message
in the text message list. For more information, see
“Messaging” (page 110)
